Safety Helmets
The safety helmet, also called hardhat or work helmet, has been part of the construction work scenery for decades. The deceptively simple safety helmet must these days undergo rigorous testing before being comfortably installed on a head.
Safety helmets are classified by their capacity to withstand impacts. A helmet without an inner foam shell is called type 1. A helmet with such a foam shell is called type 2. The inner foam shell allows a type 2 helmet to resist lateral impacts better than a type 1 helmet.
Safety helmets are further grouped in classes according to their resistance to electrical shocks, as determined by electrical resistance testing to determine their insulating properties. Class E helmets are made of non-conducting materials and resist to a nominal voltage of 20 000 V.
Sylprotec offers safety helmets in a wide array of colors to answer to our customers’ specific needs. We also offer customizable safety helmets that can display an organization’s logo. We also offer safety helmets with themed patterns (for instance, with the Quebec flag image).
Depending on the workers’ needs, safety accessories may be added to safety helmets. Popular additions are protective face shields and visors, hearing protection, front lights, chinstraps, and helmet linings for protection against the cold.
