3M N95 NIOSH 42 CFR 84 approved filter compatible with 3M 6000 series cartridges. This filter must be used with a cartridge and a 3M R501 filter retainer (cartridge and retainer not included). 10 units/box, 10 boxes/case.
This filter is made of a patented electrostatically charged microfiber. It is certified N95 which means it protects the user from 95% of solid, liquid and non-oil based particles in the air The letter "N" stands for "non-resistant" to oil based particles; one must thus avoid oily environment with that type of respirator.
Use for:
These filters are recommended for applications with non-oil based pesticides spraying, agriculture, spray paint, petrochemical and chemical manufacturing, varnishing, paper treatment and laboratory work.
Biological particles:
These filters help prevent the inhalation of certain airborne biological particles like mold, Bacillus anthracis (Anthrax), Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Koch's bacillus) the main causative agent of tuberculosis, pandemic flues (H5N1, H1N1), etc. However, it cannot eliminate the risk of contracting infection, illness or disease. Due to the nature of some contaminants, the exposure limit value of some products and byproducts haven’t been quantified by governmental agencies, thus wearing a respirator doesn’t necessarily protects you.
Do not use for:
Do not use on a beard and other facial hair or if the user suffers from a condition that prevents him from having direct contact with the respirator’s sides. One should never use a respirator regardless of the type of cartridge in use whenever concentrations of gases and vapours exceed 10 times the admissible limit set by the CNESST or any other regulation applicable. Avoid sandblasting and oxygen deprived environments (an atmosphere with less than 19,5 % oxygen).
Maintenance and service life:
Since this is a disposable product, there is no maintenance. Whenever it gets hard to breath, it is time to change them. The manufacturer’s limitations must be followed.
