Reusable concrete anchorage connector for fall protection. This steel anchorage connector can support a weight of 400 lb (181 kg).
Manufacturer's code Degil: 8523810
The concrete anchor can resist a tensile strength of 5000 lb (22 kN) which meets the standard ANSI Z359.7 but also CE-EN 795.
The device consists of a steel aircraft cable of a ¼ in (7 mm) in diameter; however one must drill a ¾ in (19 mm) diameter hole to insert the device safely. It also features a 304 stainless steel end termination and a zinc coated steel spring.
This product can resist hostile environments with rough temperatures from -40°F to 130°F (-40°C to 54˚C).
The anchorage connector may be pulled in all directions up to 90°. This anchor can thus be installed to the floor, the ceiling or the walls. Do not use this item with horizontal lifeline systems. Miller also recommends to never leave a unit inserted in a hole overnight.
A safe installation of this anchor requires a smooth surface made of concrete to allow a firm footing. Moreover, the concrete surface must be at least 5 in (127 mm) thick and resist to a minimum compressive strength of 3000 Psi (20.7 MPa). The anchor must be positioned at least 6 in (152.4 mm) away from edges and 3 in (76.2 mm) deep. Please consult the manufacturer’s manual for more details and also to learn how to drill a hole in concrete for this device.
Inspection:
The worker is responsible for visually inspecting his equipment before each use. During this routine inspection, the worker must note any signs of degradation, malfunction, or breakage. The anchor will have to be replaced if any such signs are detected.
On top of this routine inspection, the anchor must be inspected by a qualified person different than the worker. The frequency of these inspections varies according to the manufacturer. Some manufacturers require an inspection every 90 days, others every 180 days, or even yearly. These inspections should be performed more often if your equipment is used in extreme environmental working conditions.
Any equipment that has withstood a fall or an impact must be scrapped.
These anchors come with certification labels.
Suggestion:
To complete your fall protection you will find a range of harness, lanyards and self-retracting lanyards. Some products are suggested under the "accessories" tab at the bottom of this page.
