About the anchor point:

The anchor shall be secured on a steel framework which can withstand static forces of at least 5000 lb 22 (KN). The whole structure shall also be verified and approved by a qualified engineer to ensure it is functional and secure. The user of this anchor must be aware of fall hazards surrounding him. Among other factors, is there an adequate fall clearance below the work area? Are there any obstacles in the way? Are there emergency measures in place to recover a fallen worker? These are all questions one must ask himself.
Inspection:
The worker is responsible for visually inspecting his fall protection equipment before each use. During this routine inspection, the worker must note any signs of degradation, malfunction, or breakage. Any anchor showing signs of wear and tear must be scrapped.
On top of this routine inspection, the anchor must be inspected by a qualified person different than the worker. These inspections should be performed more often if your equipment is used in extreme environmental working conditions.
Replace the anchor as soon as it has withstood an impact or arrested a fall. It is recommended to disassemble the anchor and to dispose of each part separately, so as to avoid accidental reuse of the anchor.
Suggestion:
To complete your fall protection you will find a range of harness, lanyards and self-retracting lanyards. Some products are suggested under the "accessories" tab at the bottom of this page.
