5K Swivel® zinc plated permanent anchor for concrete mounting or metal for fall protection. The innovative swivel design provides 360° D-ring rotation to prevent accidental roll-out when in use. It also provides 180 ° flip to prevent accidental gate load. This anchor can support a weight of 310 lb (141 kg), including clothing, tools and equipment. Sold individually.

Hiigard Product Code: HG-1540CSA

According to the manufacturer, 5K Swivel® zinc-plated anchor has been designed to withstand a 5000 lb (22 kN). This anchor meets all applicable ANSI Z359.1-2007 and ANSI Z359.7-2011, OSHA requirements 1926.502. Note that the supplier does not have CSA certification, deeming it unnecessary for a 5000 lbf anchor.

Regarding the anchor point:
Safe installation of this anchor requires a smooth concrete surface to allow complete seating. The concrete must be at least 7" (178 mm) thick and able to withstand a force of 3000 psi (20.7 MPa). The swivel anchor must be anchored using the bolt sold separately under reference code (FPA1540B). This consists of a hexagonal-head concrete bolt and a concrete plug. For further details, please consult the information sheet and instruction manual in PDF format in the Download section.

Environmental operating temperatures recommended by the manufacturer are -30 °F to + 130 °F / -34 °C to + 54 °C. Anchor weight: 1.2 Lb (0.5 Kg)

The user of this anchor must be aware of the fall hazards surrounding him. Among other factors, is there an adequate fall clearance below the work area? Are there any obstacles in the way? Are there emergency measures in place to recover a fallen worker? These are all questions one must ask himself.

Inspection:
The worker is responsible for visually inspecting his fall protection equipment before each use. During this routine inspection, the worker must note any signs of degradation, malfunction, or breakage. Any anchor showing signs of wear and tear must be scrapped.

On top of this routine inspection, the anchor must be inspected by a qualified person different than the worker. These inspections should be performed more often if your equipment is used in extreme environmental working conditions.

Replace the anchor as soon as it has withstood an impact or arrested a fall. It is recommended to disassemble the anchor and to dispose of each part separately, so as to avoid accidental reuse of the anchor.

Suggestion:
To complete your fall protection you will find a range of harnesslanyards and self-retracting lanyards. Some products are suggested under the "accessories" tab at the bottom of this page.
