These gloves meet European anti-vibration glove standards EN ISO 10819 and American standard ANSI S2.73-2002 (R 2007).

The level of protection from mechanical hazards is expressed by a pictogram followed by four numbers, in this case 1221, where the resistance to abrasion is 1/4, the cut resistance is 2/5, the tear resistance is 2/4 and the puncture resistance is 1/4.

GV408 peculiarities:
This antivibration mechanic's style gloves are made of a silicone dotted black synthetic suede palm to provide the best grip there is. Under the faux-suede layer lays an individual chamber holding the antivibration film, that is, a sheet of urethane bladders strategically located on the palm and fingers to provide maximum hand protection. The mesh back allows hand ventilation. This glove is provided with an adjustable Velcro^® closure at the wrist to keep in place.

Faux-Suede properties:
Faux-suede is man-made synthetic fabric which may sometimes be a hundred times finer than human hair. These fibers are tightly woven together to create a dense fabric that has many of the same qualities as real suede without being as hard to maintain. Faux-suede is soft, flexible and just a little less resistant than leather.

Urethane properties:
Urethane provides good chemical and mechanical properties. This material has a great resilience, it is not known to distort itself, it is also abrasion-resistant, cut-resistant and tear-resistant. It resists to various chemicals, UV light and liquids since it absorbs nothing whatsoever.

Use for:
This type of glove is recommended to workers dealing with tools such as hammers, chipping hammers, hammer drills, sanders, jackhammers, riveting tools, chainsaws and grinders. This glove protects from abrasion, impacts and vibrations which make it an excellent candidate to protect workers from hand-held or hand guided power tools.

Limitations:
Of course, this glove offers no sure protection against frostbites, cuts, wear, tear and puncture so mechanical risks should not be overlooked. This glove moreover helps absorb and dampen impacts and vibrations, but can’t possibly prevent Raynaud’s disease or vibration white fingers disease which is a recognized industrial disease affecting blood circulation.

Maintenance and service life:
It is recommended to carry out a basic maintenance to extend the service life of your gloves. Simply wash them with cold water, that is, 85°F/30°C and a mild detergent. You can then dry them at low temperature in a dryer. Never use bleach on this glove.
