HazVac Industrial canister vacuum cleaner by Tiger-Vac suitable for asbestos abatement and decontamination. This vacuum has a HEPA filter and a 12 gal (US) (45 L) reservoir to hold the bags which can contain asbestos, hazardous dust and dry or moist rubbish.
This vacuum is equipped with a HEPA filter (High-Efficiency Particulate Air filter) it captures at least 99.97% of the particles at least 0,3 µm in diameter in the air. This type of filter is even more efficient when capturing particles bigger than 0,3 µm. A secondary non-HEPA filter made of polyester protects the device from premature wear and tear.
This vacuum cleaner is suitable for cleaning dry materials such as regular dust, soil, rubbish, ashes and sawdust. The HEPA filter on this vacuum is efficient against carcinogenic dust and dust carrying pathogenic agents. This device is ideal for asbestos abatement and any decontamination work. It is also suitable for general construction work and renovation as well as daily cleaning of large surfaces such as schools and health care facilities.
This heavy duty vacuum cleaner is ideal for industrial applications. The metal reservoir resists impacts and spills. It is coated with a power based on epoxy resin. The device also features an automatic shutdown mechanism.
This machine weighs a total of 42 lb (19 kg) and it features four swivel casters to ease its moving on all type of floors.

- 2 telescopic wand that can form one wand
- 1 nozzle for dry materials
- 1 nozzle for damp materials

When activated, the engine of this vacuum generates little noise. Its minimal power supply requirement is 120V/60 Hz and it uses 7.8 A on a 15 Amps circuit. The engine’s 1.7 HP generates an airflow of 110 cfm and a water lift of 110 inWC or 27.4 kPa which gives you a power output of 1250 Watts.

Spare HEPA filters (item SAD5-F) and 4 gal (US) bags (item SAD5-S) are available under the accessories section at the bottom of the page. Please note that the bags come in a pack of 10 units and the HEPA filters are sold individually.
The DOP test (Dispersed Oil Particulate) has been designed to ensure the integrity and efficiency of HEPA filters in terms of airborne particles containment based on their holding capacity of dispersed oil particulate of 0,3 µm. This type of test is a requirement because it pinpoints any leaks on the HEPA filter, that is, through its accordion-shaped material, its frame or its seals. Note that if particles go around the HEPA filter, the DOP test has failed.
It is strongly recommended to always make a DOP test on the work site.
Please note that on asbestos abatement or mold decontamination sites, a DOP test is required:
- Before the start of a new development
- Every four weeks if the unit remains in situ during works
- It is strongly advise to perform a DOP test on the site which is ready to start the work
HEPA filters are certified accordingly to current applicable regulations and a certification label shall be placed on the frame of the filter.
