This product is one of the most advanced cleaners available on the market since it rapidly removes stains through its corrosive effect. REMOVE IT is ideal for restoration professionals, be they specialized in mold remediation or disaster recovery clean-up. This product consists in the first step to the restoration of run-down or damaged surfaces and materials.

This light yellow innovative formula penetrates deep into the substrate through a much more aggressive oxidation process than domestic bleaching agents. It is in fact so powerful that, as opposed to hydrogen peroxide-based products, one doesn’t need to scrub the treated surface to assist the process. However, it emits harmful chlorine fumes which can damage the respiratory tract. Then simply vacuum the treated surface with HEPA equipment to remove spores and residues before moving on to the second step, that is sterilization.

Dilution:
No dilution is required, the REMOVE IT has been designed as a ready-made product.

Coverage:
The approximate coverage rate ranges between 150 ft² to 200 ft²/gal US and depends heavily on the porosity of the materials and the amount of product applied.

Procedures:
The manufacturer recommends the use of a pump sprayer (SACC2) to apply the REMOVE IT. It is critical to wear personal protective equipment since the product is quite corrosive.

Simply saturate the affected material with enough product to make it visibly wet. The manufacturer recommends to dry the surface to be treated if necessary since moisture reduces the potency of the product. In the event that more product than needed has been taken out, never return unused material to the original container. Instead, use a clean resealable container to avoid any contamination. REMOVE IT has not been designed to be reused.

Ventilation:
A ventilation system may be required when applying REMOVE IT. In any case, one has to refer to the permissible exposure limit set by the CNESST or any other government regulation applicable. In confined spaces such as crawl spaces, attics and roof space, an air scrubber (a.k.a. a negative pressure vacuum) is required to control the airflow. Of course, the air volume of the work site has to be taken into account to decide which air scrubber (SAH1, SAH2, SAH2MA, SAH3, SAH4MA) suits the purpose. A filter against organic vapours (SAHFSOV, SAH1FSOV) and a ventilation duct of suitable length and diameter (SAHCF10, SAHCF12, SAHCS12) may be needed, as well as installation accessories.

Required safety equipment:
The manufacturer highly recommends to take the necessary precautions when handling this corrosive product. On top of a ventilation system, one should foresee hand protectors such as thick latex gloves (GL9298, G557) or nitrile gloves (GL9315) and protective clothes like a hooded Tychem® coverall (V65594) since Tyvek® does not offer enough protection against this chemical. One should also wear a full facepiece respirator (R6800 or RN54001) equipped with cartridges (R60923 or RN7583P100) for protection from solid, liquid, oil-based and biological particulates as well as organic vapours and acid gases. Under no circumstances should one handle REMOVE IT without protective gear since this product is as hazardous to the respiratory system as the particulates it dislodges.

Limitations:
This product is too corrosive to be used on textiles, carpets and fabrics; direct contact may result in the permanent damage to the appearance and integrity of the material. Moreover, REMOVE IT should never get in contact with copper, steel, aluminum or any other corrodable metal; such case may release of hydrogen chloride (hydrochloric acid), a chemical so powerful it causes serious burns whether in a liquid or gaseous state. Should some REMOVE IT get on one of the excluded surfaces, clean it up quickly with soapy water or wipe it with WD-40®.

Storage:
Keep out of the reach of children at a temperature ranging between 40 °F (4.5 °C) and 90 °F (32 °C). Store away from direct sunlight as UV rays will reduce the potency of the product. The manufacturer recommends a close inspection of the packaging to ensure the integrity of the product. Avoid storing REMOVE IT close to or in contact with any of the material proscribed earlier to avoid any damage in case of a breach. If the packaging is damaged or about to, transfer the solution in a clean resealable plastic container. If still sealed, the container can be stored for 6 months.
