This versatile product may be used as a temporary asbestos lockdown encapsulant or as a permanent asbestos sealant. It also has fire-retardant properties. It may be used on both porous and non-porous surfaces, such as thermal or acoustic insulation, flocking, fiber cement, soil, etc.

This spray is very handy to seal small surfaces, for instance after asbestos sampling, as well as for tight spaces that are hard to reach with a regular sprayer. The spray can works in any position, even upside-down.

This spray is designed for single or short-term use, given that dried residue may clog the spray nozzle.

Temporary asbestos lockdown encapsulant
As temporary asbestos lockdown encapsulant, this product traps any asbestos fibres remaining after abatement, and prevents them from becoming airborne. The spray can be easily inserted into glove bags to seal freshly decontaminated pipes.

Permanent lockdown encapsulant
As permanent asbestos encapsulant, this product seals asbestos-containing materials that cannot be removed or decontaminated. This product dries to a thin but strong 6 to 10 mils (0.15 to 0.25 mm) film which protects against any physical degradation of the asbestos-containing material, thus preventing the release of asbestos fibres.

• Drying time: Varies depending on application, temperature and humidity. At least 1 hour for dry to touch. At least 4 hours to recoat.

• CFC-free. Meets US EPA requirements.
• Calculated volatile organic compounds (VOC) emission: 64 g/L.
• Non-flammable, low flame spread. Fire rating ASTM E84 Class A.

Instructions

• Shake well before use.
• Spray 8 to 12 inches (20 to 30 cm) from the surface to be sealed.
• Do not use under 10°C (50°F).
• Do not freeze or allow to freeze in storage.
• After spraying, the product dries to a white film.
