To apply the sterile abdominal compress correctly, follow these steps:
- Wash your hands: Before touching the pad or the wound, make sure your hands are clean to avoid infection.
- Prepare the wound: Gently clean the area around the wound with an antiseptic solution to remove a ny dirt or bacteria.
- Open the packaging: Remove the compress from its sterile packaging without touching the part that will be in contact with the wound.
- Apply the compress: Place the compress directly on the wound.
- Make sure it covers the entire wound area.Secure the compress: Use a bandage or medical tape to hold the compress in place. Be careful not to over-tighten, as this will impede blood circulation.
