This glove has a cut-resistance level 2 according to ASTM and ANSI standards.
G120 peculiarities:
This Kevlar® knit glove provides an excellent cut resistance as well as an abrasion resistance and a high tensile strength. It also offers a good resistance to corrosion without compromising workers comfort and dexterity. Further, it is partially composed of Lycra which makes it exceptionally stretchy, thus the glove will conform perfectly to the shape of your hand and make handling, an easier task.
Kevlar properties:
Kevlar, a thermoplastic polymer related to aramids, is a low-density high-strength material which offers an excellent tensile strength, elongation and shear strength. This fabric doesn’t expand from temperature changes and fairly absorbs vibrations and shock. Kevlar doesn’t strain the hand and react chemically well to hydrocarbons.
Lycra properties:
Lycra also known as elastane is a synthetic fiber known for its exceptional elasticity. Indeed, Lycra can extend to 600% its original length before beginning to show signs of tearing. It also exhibits the ability to recover its original form after being stretched and dries at a blistering speed which is quite convenient while working.
Use for:
This glove is recommended for inspectors, but does not rule out other applications. It may indeed be used by workers in the metallurgic sector and for other industrial tasks since it provides a good cut-resistance.
Do not use for:
Kevlar is known to have a low resistance to UV light and moisture. Nitrile has a low resistance to open flames. This glove cannot eliminate the risk of mechanical endangerment although it offers an excellent protection on this level. As for Lycra, it is not a known allergen, but there were reported case of allergic reactions following its wearing due to the residual presence of some irritating components used in the manufacturing of the material.
Maintenance and service life:
It is recommended to carry out a basic maintenance to extend the service life of your gloves. Simply wash them with cold water, that is, 85°F/30°C, and a mild detergent. It is also recommended to rinse your glove with cold water after wash. You can then dry them at low temperature in a dryer. Never use bleach on this glove.
