G132 peculiarities:
This cut-resistant glove provides supreme protection against mechanical risks. It is made of knit Kevlar® with palms, fingers and the entire thumb covered in side-split leather. We’re talking about a glove that is hard to wear out and offers an outstanding protection. This product is incredibly durable and provides an unparalleled protection against cuts and other mechanical hazards. Kevlar® provides furthermore protection from burn hazards, since it doesn’t drip or melt around heat and open flames. These knitted gloves are designed accordingly to Superior’s ‘True Hand Technology’ or THT™. This design perfectly fits the hand, since it respects takes into account the human hand physiognomy, that is, the crotch between the little finger and the ring finger is located just a little lower than the other finger crotches.
Kevlar properties:
Kevlar®, a thermoplastic polymer related to aramids, is a low-density high-strength material which offers an excellent tensile strength, elongation and shear strength. This fabric doesn’t expand from temperature changes and fairly absorbs vibrations and shock. Kevlar doesn’t strain the hand and react chemically well to hydrocarbons.
Side-split leather properties:
Side-split leather is leather created from the fibrous part of the hide left once the top-grain of the rawhide has been separated from the hide. It usually is less resistant than top-grain leather, but it is ideal for safety clothes because once paired with other materials, it becomes cost-effective compared to real leather.
Use for:
This glove is recommended for workers dealing with sharp metal sheets, metal stamping and glass handling as well as for workers in recycling depots, garbage collection and forestry.
Do not use for:
Kevlar® is known to have a low resistance to UV light and moisture. Of course, this glove offers no sure protection against cuts, wear, tear and puncture so mechanical risks should not be overlooked.
Maintenance and service life:
It is not recommended to wash this glove since water and soap tend to rob leather of its natural oils which makes it stiffen and become brittle.
