This flexible wire prevents static electricity discharges that may ignite flammable vapors during transferring and dispensing operations. Such electric sparks may be caused by friction (ex. metal doors opening) or by flammable liquids accumulating a static electric charge with respect to their container.
This wire is 3 feet (0.9 m) long and is equipped with dual alligator clips with a 5/8” opening. It may be used to ground a cabinet or to bond a container or a funnel to a grounded cabinet or drum. All contact points should be bare metal to bare metal. Remove paint, rust or dirt if necessary. According to the NFPA 30 standard, art. 2.5.8.2-4, all equipment must be grounded.
