This sign is compliant with the NFPA 170-2015 Standard for Fire Safety and Emergency Symbols.

Coating options:

• Standard UV-resistant coating, for long-lasting colors.
• Engineer grade (EG) retro-reflective coating with glass microbeads. Includes UV-resistant coating.

Aluminium panel thickness: 0.040 inches (40 mils, 1.02 mm)
The sign does not have pre-drilled mounting holes.

The Quebec Fire Safety Act requires that any employer and building owner provide “all persons to seek to remove or reduce fire hazards by acting with foresight and prudence in that regard.” Although displaying safety signs is not mandatory, each and every city has its own Law concerning fire safety. In Montreal, it is mandatory to point out where a manual gas shutoff valve is located. It is moreover required by sections 6.18.2 and 6.18.5 of the Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec that there be a gas shutoff and that it remains easily accessible. Such requirement aims at limiting fire hazards and explosion in case of a gas leak as well as limiting further damages if a fire breaks out in a building supplied with natural gas.
