Design :
It's made from polyester woven to oxford gauge with 300 Denier yarn and a polyurethane coating, guaranteeing waterproofing and wind resistance. Complies with ANSI/ISEA 107-20-2020 class 3 type and R standards as well as CSA Z96-2022 class 3 level 2.

This garment boasts superior anti-tear and anti-abrasion properties, as well as a half-mesh back for improved ventilation and comfort. It features 2 lower pockets with flaps and a foldaway hood inside the collar. Its ample cut and back ventilation slot will keep you comfortable while you work. This coat features a nylon front zipper with snap flap. 

The long coat is also adorned with 2” Startech® premium retroreflective tape alternating with hi-viz yellow stripes, 2 vertical stripes at the front, 2 crossed X stripes at the rear, a horizontal stripe at the waist and a final horizontal stripe at knee level. This gives it the highest visibility rating, class 3 level 2. 

This polyester oxford coat, laminated with polyurethane on the inside, is made from 300-denier yarns. In simpler terms, this is a medium-weight coat: light enough to offer comfort and heavy enough to provide adequate protection. By definition, 300 denier expresses the weight of 9,000 m of the yarn used, so 300 denier equals 300 g. The manufacturer is unable to provide the thickness of the polyurethane lamination.

The term oxford refers to the type of weave. Oxford is widely used in industry, notably for the manufacture of shirts, coats, bags and so on. Oxford weave is obtained by crossing a weft thread (horizontal thread) and a warp thread (vertical thread) to create its characteristic check pattern.

Water resistance:
Polyurethane-lined waterproof safety wear is usually worn by workers who may be exposed to remote risks of chemical splashes. Polyurethane is lightweight and porous; it’s thus ideal to manufacture light and breathable workwear. The manufacturer is unable to provide information on these rain jacket resistance to hydrostatic pressure. Upon examination and comparison to similar products, we assume that they can withhold a hydrostatic pressure of about 5,000 mm, i.e. they can withstand the pressure of a 5 m water column.

A waterproof rating is granted when a material has been tested under the pressure of a cylinder filled with water, in this case, 5 m high of water. This height defines the limit at which the material stops being resistant and water starts passing through. PU is lightweight and porous; it’s thus ideal to manufacture light and breathable workwear. Yet, during heavy rains and windstorms, PU tends to get waterlogged and lose all its water-resistant property. Once waterlogged, polyurethane allows water to penetrate inside the coat under the slightest pressure, such as when bending over or leaning against something.

We recommend wearing this coat with overalls (VP5629).

About its classification:

CSA Z96-22 class 3 level 2: Class 3: This class is designed for workers in high-risk areas, such as highways and large-scale construction zones.

Fluorescent orange is highly visible during the day and in conditions with a lot of artificial light. In most situations, it also offers high contrast with the background. Fluorescent orange is less visible at night and in conditions of low natural or artificial light, for example at dawn or dusk.

Silver retroreflective stripes are highly visible in natural or artificial low-light conditions, as they reflect light back towards the source of the light beam (flashlight, car headlights, etc.). They therefore offer the greatest safety at dawn, dusk and at night. However, they do not increase visibility during the day.

Complies with CSA Z96-22 class 3 level 2: Class 3 is the highest level of visibility for high-visibility clothing. According to CSA standard Z96-22, it covers the largest surface area of the body and provides the best visibility in low-light conditions and at a distance. This class combines class 2 garments, with the addition of bands around the arms and legs. But in the case of the long coat, it's complete!

Compliant with ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 class 3 type P and R is an American standard that applies to workers who work on roads or in areas where there are a lot of moving vehicles and equipment. Such as highways and construction zones, where very high visibility is required.

Class 3 types P and R is a VSHV category that must have enough brightly colored fabric and light-reflecting stripes to make you highly visible. The brightly colored fabric may be yellow-green, orange-red or red, and may or may not be fluorescent.High-visibility safety clothing features light-reflecting reflective strips that can be seen from over 250 meters away to ensure your safety, and for Sylprotec this is essential.

Peculiarities of:
The waterproof, high-visibility "The Rock" long coat will keep you safe, dry and protected even in the toughest working conditions. The half-mesh back provides increased ventilation for greater comfort, while thermally sealed glued seams guarantee maximum waterproofing.

Application:
High-visibility clothing must be worn when working on pavements and roads, and is worn to alert drivers and other vehicle operators to the presence of a worker. They are particularly appreciated by workers who have to spend long hours on their feet in driving rain and strong winds.

Restriction: 
This rain jacket does not provide protection against flames or electric arcs. Do not use bleach, iron or dry clean.

Maintenance and service life: 
Hand wash with cold water and mild detergent, without using bleach, fabric softener or dryer. Wash inside out to reduce abrasion and streaking.
