This glove has a puncture resistance and an abrasion resistance level 2 according to ASTM and ANSI standards.
This glove meets EN388 standards as for protection against mechanical hazards. This level of protection is expressed by a pictogram followed by four numbers, in this case 4131, where the resistance to abrasion is 4/4, the cut resistance is 1/5, the tear resistance is 3/4 and the puncture resistance is 1/4.
GS13BPVC peculiarities:
This nylon knit glove is so finely woven that it has almost no effect on the sense of touch which comes handy for workers that need to keep their tactile sensitivity. Nylon moreover doesn’t lint and the PVC used for this model of glove contains no silicone, which makes ideal for the automotive industry. Glues and adhesives also don’t adhere to the coating which has been foamed to increase the gripping on wet or oily surfaces.
Nylon properties:
Nylon exhibits good mechanical, electrical and chemical properties. It is also highly wear-resistant, mostly to friction, it doesn’t strain the hand easily and it resist well to heat, but not to an open flame. Nylon has a little to no absorbent quality which is ideal if you want to keep your hands dry while working.
PVC properties:
PVC is a thermoplastic polymer featuring excellent mechanical and chemical properties even when heated. However, PVC has a higher polar nature which gives it inferior electrical insulating properties.
Use for:
The manufacturer recommends this glove to workers in the field of automotive, but also for the small parts handling, maintenance, construction, furniture manufacturing, window applications and woodworking.
Do not use for:
PVC offers little to no resistance to heat and since the glove is partially covered, it is not recommended to submerge it in liquids. Considering the fact that the glove is partially coated, it is not recommended to immerse it in liquids. Moreover, PVC foam offers little to no resistance to UV light and organic solvents.
Maintenance and service life:
It is recommended to carry out a basic maintenance to extend the service life of your gloves. Simply wash them with cold water and a mild detergent. You can then dry them at low temperature in a dryer. Never use bleach on this glove.
