Peakworks vertical lifeline made of 5/8" (16 mm) diameter extruded copolymer fiber rope with a splice on the back end and a standard carabiner on the other end.

Peakworks product code: V84014025, model: VL-1125-25 for the 25' length. This product is CSA Z259.2.5-2012 compliant and meets ANSI Z359 standards.

Dimensions:
Cable diameter: 5/8" (16 mm)
Length: choice of 25, 50 or 100 feet.

This lifeline is available in different lengths ranging from 25, 50 or 100 feet.  Please choose your size from the drop down menu above.

This lifeline has a carabiner on one end, which is a standard ¾" (19mm) opening self-locking and double action unlocking carabiner. The other end has a splice to prevent the runner from detaching from the lifeline.

This lifeline has a minimum breaking strength of 27 kN (6,000 lb). The carabiners (hooks) are made of steel and are capable of withstanding a force of 3600 lb (16 kN) without deforming.

About the anchor point:

The anchor point should preferably be located above the level of the harness back ring and should be positioned vertically to the user. The worker should remain below the anchor point so that he/she remains within a 45 degree angle or less.

It is important that the user be aware of the risks of a possible fall. Among other things, is there a sufficient distance below the worker that is free of obstacles? Are there emergency measures in place to quickly recover the worker? Can the anchor point withstand a force of 5000 lb? For more information, consult the manufacturer's manual.

Inspection:

The worker is responsible for performing a routine inspection before each use. During this routine inspection, the worker should observe any signs of deterioration, wear, malfunction or breakage. You must replace your lifeline at the first sign of failure.

In addition, this lifeline should be inspected by a qualified person other than the worker. The required frequency of these inspections will vary depending on the conditions to which the retractable is subjected. It should be recertified by the manufacturer no more than 2 years after its manufacturing date and annually thereafter.

Sylprotec offers an inspection service for lanyards and safety harnesses. For life line, we offer this service through the manufacturer. You can find out more by visiting the Service tab on our website.

Any equipment that is subject to a fall or impact must be taken out of service.

Maintenance:

For cleaning, use mild soap and lukewarm water (37°C). Do not use bleach or other abrasive or chemical products. Air dry without excessive heat in a clean environment. You can use a very clean absorbent cloth or a fan. Avoid all other sources of contamination. The lifeline must be fully retracted into the device when not in use.

Suggestion:

To complete your fall protection you will find a range of harness and accessories. Some products are suggested under the "accessories" tab at the bottom of this page.
