Kevlar® provides furthermore protection from burn hazards, since it doesn’t drip or melt around heat and open flames.

Kevlar properties:
Kevlar®, a thermoplastic polymer related to aramids, is a low-density high-strength material which offers an excellent tensile strength, elongation and shear strength. This fabric doesn’t expand from temperature changes and fairly absorbs vibrations and shock. Kevlar doesn’t strain the hand and react chemically well to hydrocarbons.

Use for:
Such a sleeve is recommended for workers dealing with hot environment where wearing heavy protective garments may be a burden, but one must still protects oneself from mechanical hazards. The manufacturer suggests this sleeve to workers handling metal sheets which may be sharp from time to time. This sleeve is also great for the automotive industry, metal fabrication and welding

Do not use for:
Kevlar® is known to have a low resistance to UV light and moisture. Of course, this sleeve offers no sure protection against cuts, wear, tear and puncture so mechanical risks should not be overlooked.

Maintenance and service life:
It is recommended to carry out a basic maintenance to extend the service life of your sleeves. Simply wash them with hot water, that is, 170°F/75°C and a regular detergent. One should also rinse the sleeves in cold water after washing them, but before drying them.  You can then dry them at medium temperature in a dryer. Never use traditional bleach on Kevlar®. If one requires the use of a stain remover, the manufacturer suggests using peroxide-based bleach rather than chlorine-based bleach.
