Application:
To use the polyethylene spine board, here are some general steps to follow:

1.  Prepare the board: Make sure the spine board is clean and in good condition. Place it close to the person to be immobilized.

2.  Stabilize the patient: Immobilize the head and neck first, to avoid any movement that could aggravate the injury. Use a cervical collar if possible.

3. Transfer the patient to the backboard: With the help of several people, gently lift the patient using an appropriate method, such as rolling or team lifting. Slide the spine board under the patient while maintaining head and neck stabilization.

4. Secure the patient: Use safety straps to secure the patient to the spine board. Start with the chest straps, then the abdominal straps and finally the leg straps. Make sure the straps are tight, but not too tight to avoid interfering with blood circulation.

5. Stabilize the head: Place cushions or stabilizing blocks on either side of the patient's head and secure them to the board to minimize head movement.

6.  Transport the patient: Once the patient has been secured, you can proceed with transport, taking care to maintain a stable position and avoid any sudden movements.

It's important to be properly trained in the use of rescue equipment to ensure safe and effective interventions.

Maintenance and service life:
Before and after each use, inspect the board for signs of wear, cracks or damage. If any defects are found, replace the board immediately to ensure patient safety.
