This fluorescent yellow flagman's coat complies with the new Transports Québec standard (December 2014), as read in Tome V - Signalisation routière, paragraph 4.34.1. Worn alone, the coat complies with the CSA Z96-15 class 2 standard. When worn with the high visibility pants with reflective stripes, the assembly complies with the CSA Z96-15 class 3 standard. In addition, this coat complies with the AINSI/ISEA 107-15 class 3 type P and R standard.
This jacket has silver StarTech® retroreflective stripes alternating with fluorescent orange stripes. Each stripe measures 50 mm (2 inches). This coat has two vertical stripes on the front, two X-crossed stripes on the back, three horizontal stripes at the waist and three stripes around the cuffs. The coat collar is also fluorescent orange.
Fluorescent yellow (safety yellow-green) is highly visible during the day and in conditions with little natural light, such as dawn and dusk. In most situations, it also offers a high contrast to the background. Being lighter than orange, fluorescent yellow is more visible at night, but is not as visible in the dark as reflective stripes.
Fluorescent orange is highly visible during the day and in conditions with a lot of artificial light. In most situations, it also offers a high contrast with the background. Fluorescent orange, however, is less visible at night and in conditions of low natural or artificial light, such as dawn or dusk.
Silver-grey retroreflective strips are highly visible in low natural or artificial light conditions because they reflect light back to the source of the light beam (flashlight, car headlights, etc.). They therefore offer the greatest safety at dawn, dusk and at night. On the other hand, they do not increase visibility during the day.
The coat closes with a zipper, protected by a flap. The coat has a pocket on the front top with a compartment for a pen, a transparent pocket for ID cards, two large pockets with flap on the front, two internal pockets and two gray shoulder straps for radios. The cuffs are black and have snap fasteners on the inner side of the cuff.
Made of 300 denier polyesters knit with a 5 mm polyurethane coating, a breathable and waterproof fabric. The seams are glued and heat sealed. The coat is insulated from the cold by the addition of a 180 g/m2 polyester lining quilted in a diamond shape.
Ideal for roadworkers, as well as for all other workers near moving vehicles: construction, petrochemical, mining, fishing, public works or transportation workers, as well as drivers.
