3M RM407 facepiece consist of a hard hat, a premium visor, a fireproof faceseal and a head cover, which makes it the number 1 among workers in factories where hard hats are required, especially in industrial environments with high concentration of contaminants. The hard hat is provided with a six point head suspension and a rotary ratchet mechanism. It meets ANSI Z89.1-2003 impact protection standards and is classified type 1 and class G which is approved for industrial work. The hard hat part is made of a fireproof blend of PC and PBT, which consist in polycarbonate and polybuthylene terephtalate. Please note that it is not yet CSA approved. This product offers a protection up to 1000 times the permissible exposure limit.
The RM407 meets ANSI Z87.1-2010 standards regarding eye and face protection. 3M RM407 is equipped with a premium visor and a flame resistant faceseal. RM927 visor is made of an anti-scratch covered polycarbonate resistant to impacts. A RM928 peel-off visor cover comes with the complete system.
The RM407 is equipped with a deflector to send the air flow in different directions, i.e., toward the face or the visor, whichever is best. It features a flame resistant faceseal of polyurethane covered polyamide, which not only ensures an airtight environment, but protects one from flames for a limited time. The head cover offers a protection of up to a 1000 times the permissible exposure limits because of it Nomex IIIA cover, which is also fireproof. This equipment offers a protection for bearded man whatever the condition in which the beard is place inside de headgear.
This piece of equipment gets its NIOSH homologation when assembled with the other components recognised by the manufacturer as part of a complete system. It offers a protection to up to 1000 times the permissive exposure limit to contaminants whatever the equipment chosen, e.g., GVP system, Breathe Easy, Versaflow, Adflo or any V-series air supplied respirators.
