3M H-series hood assembly for respiratory protection. This type of facepiece has been design to cover one’s face, head and neck, and is recommended for workers in need of respiratory protection with headgear in pharmaceutical or industrial sector. This item is one-size-fits-all. 1 assembly/case.
This type of equipment offers a protection up to 1000 times the permissible exposure limit set by the CNESST or any other government regulation applicable.
The assembly includes:
- 2 Hoods (RH420)
- 2 Faceshield cover (RH110)
- 1 Hatshell (RW3258)
- 1 Head suspension (RW2878)
- 1 Chin strap (RH114)
- 1 Squeeze clamp (RW3222)
The RH422 facepiece consist of a premium hood that covers the head and neck. This kit is by design made to protect one from hostile environment filled with airborne contaminants. The hood is equipped with an elastic faceseal which molds itself to the shape of the user’s face. It also features a hat shell for workers who need an impact-resistant protection. The hard hat meets ANSI Z89.1-2003 impact protection standards and is classified type 1 and class G which is approved for industrial work. The hard hat is however not yet CSA approved. The facepiece consist of Tychem QC, a patented material by Dupont which is completely waterproof, alkali-resistant as well as resistant to some inorganic acids and pesticides.
3M manufacturer’s code: H-422
This piece of equipment gets its NIOSH homologation when assembled with the other components recognized by the manufacturer as part of a complete system. It offers a protection to up to 1000 times the permissive exposure limit to contaminants when properly used with a 3M GVP system.
This particular model of hood assembly can be replaced with 3M hood RS655 as long as the corresponding tube is assembled with it. Please contact our customer service for detailed information concerning the assemblage of your powered respiratory protection equipment.
Maintenance:
Please note that the RH422 textile part of the hood is disposable, but the hard hat is reusable, thus maintenance is required. 3M recommends never washing the hard hat with any type of solvents since they can weaken some components which in turns can affect the efficiency of the equipment. As regards textile part, they are available in the menu at the bottom of the page (RH420).
